The Paper Anniversary

As we approach the one year anniversary of when "it all went down", I find it rather appropriate that a one year anniversary gift is paper?

Ah yes, who remembers the scramble for the hallowed scrolls, depleted from every grocery store shelf, and stolen from any business brave enough to allow the infected to enter their doors?  Of course, we all have the power of retrospection - and again, much like paper being the commemorative first year gift that keeps on giving - we can look into last year with great, and perfect, hindsight (yes, you have to fill in the rest of this joke yourself).

Let's take a moment of introspection and think about what we learned last year.  Go ahead, I will wait.  It's okay, take all the time you need.  I will be right here waiting for you.

Tenuous Democracy Swirling

I am sure that most of you watched the horrors of January 6th unfold throughout the day.  It was unnerving and that awful feeling in my stomach was eerily reminiscent to watching the horrors of 9/11.  The events were surreal and watching those people in our Capitol was infuriating.  Let us not try to find subtle language or some friendly terminology for the people that stormed our Capitol: they were terrorists.  Period.

The Complaint (May 12, 2005)

I went back to the beginning of my blogging days for this one.

To preface, there was an earlier post where I had mentioned a sigmoidoscope - and if you do not know what that is, click the word for a trip to Merriam-Webster - and after someone I knew made a comment about it - the kind of comment where they scrunch their eyes and nose together and the words come out through their nose.  You know the one.

What I found funny is that over 15 years later the joke of not taking responsibility is still relevant.

My First Complaint (from Cut to the Chase Blog on Blogspot)

Dear Cut to the Chase,

I was mortified by the mention of a sigmoidoscope

Mr. Orange (April 21, 2013)

I sifted through some old posts and found this one.  There is no rhyme or reason why I lead with it, it was merely the first one I ran across that I liked.  Some editing has been done for quality assurance.

Mr. Orange (from the Perils of IT Blog on Tumblr)

We all have had managers we really liked, managers we really could not stand, and then we had those managers that we question how in the hell they got into the position they held.  This goes for everyone, but in our IT world, the managers can make or break a job.

My anecdote tonight is about “Mr. Orange.”

Welcome (again)

I seem to create new blog sites every few years.  Some people collect stamps, and I seem to collect various blog locations of where I have posted all sorts of different things.

Well, it is time to bring that all to an end.  Here and now.

I will, of course, edit out what I do not feel is relevant anymore, but I will still slip in some of the older favorites.

I will use the labels feature on the site to try to differentiate what is old, what is new, and what is absolute nonsense.  If you are here, and thank you for being here, I want to make it as easy as possible to navigate.  The recorded stuff will remain on the radio station, and this will be more of the long-winded stuff.  If anything, it is more for me to see what I have out there and any ideas I let slip past me!

I do reserve the right to change the look and feel at any time.

Thank you for coming along - but, be aware, this could be a tremendous bore!
